My Thoughts on Xenoblade Chronicles 2 So Far

27.07.24

Hey everyone! I’ve been sinking a lot of time into Xenoblade Chronicles 2 lately, and it’s been a wild ride. I’m up to Indol now (don’t worry, no spoilers here!), and I’ve got some thoughts to share.

First off, the visuals are something else. Seriously, the landscapes are gorgeous. You’ve got the lush fields of Gormott, which are a total feast for the eyes, and then you’ve got the industrial vibes of Mor Ardain. It’s like the game can’t decide if it wants to be a beautiful painting or a gritty, mechanical beast, and it just works. I’ve spent way too much time just standing around, taking it all in while the soundtrack does its thing. The music? Absolute fire. It really sets the mood for every scene perfectly.

Now, the story. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is all about hope and perseverance, and it nails these themes. Every character is dealing with their own stuff, but they never lose sight of their dreams. This theme of hope and optimism really hits home, especially with everything going on in the world today. It’s like, no matter how tough things get, there’s always a reason to keep moving forward.

Take Rex, for example. This guy is the embodiment of hope and determination. His whole deal with helping Pyra reach Elysium is inspiring, showing that even in the darkest times, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel. Philosophically speaking, it’s all about how our beliefs shape our reality. Hold on to hope, and you can change the world.

Nia is another favorite. She’s got this tough exterior with a heart of gold. Her snarky comments are hilarious, but her loyalty and caring nature run deep. Then there’s Tora, whose quirky personality and steadfast support for his friends are pure joy. The character development is on point. Each of them represents different parts of ourselves – hope, resilience, loyalty – and it’s fascinating to see them grow through their struggles.

The combat system is another aspect that’s hooked me. It’s complex and can be overwhelming at first, but once you get the hang of it, it’s super satisfying. Chaining combos with your party is a blast, and discovering new Blades and their abilities adds layers of depth to the gameplay.

Thank you for reading my thoughts! I'm excited to continue this journey and see where the story takes us. Stay tuned for more updates!
